This frame seems like the perfect partner for this botanical Ray Crooke painting - the ash wood frame, stained to a custom reddish brown is reminiscent of the tree branches whilst the hand-painted mottled slip picks up the paler sandy shades in the piece
Since the canvas was fairly deep we extended the moulding on the back to add more depth - in the third pic you'll see that where the wood joins we added a key line to mask it 🌴
